"I attempted to do it last year to celebrate my 21st birthday online. But since I was still recovering from the operation, the effort was too much," Mr Spry said. Now, all cylinders are "firing beautifully", and he's been able to perform the "major surgery".
And over the past 3 months it has been major surgery, across four main areas (hence the "quadruple" bypass).
The front and back end code has been completely re-written. Many significant improvements were made. All the methods used to showcase the data available upgraded. What both human visitors, and search engines, now see on the site is extremely fine-tuned.
The business display pages in Come On Aussie's directory have had a complete overhaul. They have fully "responsive" pages to suit all devices. And there's provision to feature significant amounts of text and video. "These can now look like a million dollars", said Mr Spry.
The design format strongly encourages future visitors to click through to those business sites. Mr Spry suggested businesses already listed on the site, should take advantage of the new features and edit and update their details. And, "if you're not listed already, then get over to Come On Aussie and add yourself!"
"I love providing opportunities for Australian business to promote themselves online," Mr Spry said. "The content marketing method used here is extremely useful to both users and advertisers alike."
A lot more imagery is available across the site. There's now a brand new "Image Gallery" where you can post pictures and showcase them. Mr Spry hopes these images will add the "Wow Factor!" to get more people talking about Come On Aussie, particularly on social media.
"Several people are interested in developing their own pictorial sections. That's pretty exciting." Mr Spry said, "And this imagery showcases the great places in Australia people can visit! I'm hoping we can do a lot more for the tourism people listed on the website."
So in terms I'm sure the Aussie public will understand...
