Taylor Builders commenced operation in 1983. The brain child of Ron & Desley Taylor and trading from humble beginnings in their home offices they have expanded their business into one of the largest commercial, industrial, residential and new home designer builders in Townsville but still retain the personalized service that sets them apart. Ron obtained his builder’s license in 1977 and is very active in the industry, having served as President of the North Queensland Region of the Housing Industry Association (HIA) and involved in various working committees for the HIA. He was elected to the local Thuringowa City Council from 2000 to 2004 and was the chairman of the planning and development committee. Ron is also a Life Member of the HIA and a longtime member of Rotary. In 1995 their son Chris joined the operation ensuring that the family emphasis of Taylor Builders Pty Ltd (Taylor Homes) will continue. Chris Taylor has obtained his Bachelor of Commerce, Post Graduate Diploma in Construction and his Bachelor of Law. This education has given him an excellent knowledge of the management and organisational processes required in any construction project. Chris has also obtained his own builder's license. Chris is also a past President of the North Queensland Region of the Housing Industry Association and is actively involved on HIA working committees in helping to improve the building industry as much as possible
