Branxton is a small historical town located 18km north-west of Maitland , 21km east of Singleton and 18km north of Cessnock. History is rich in Branxton with the main street occupied by antique stores and historical buildings.

Branxton is also the northern gateway to the Hunter Valley vineyards, from the junction of the New England Highway and the Wine Country Drive , it only takes 10 minutes to Wine Country Visitor Center at Pokolbin. This is real a wine country, and Branxton is literally surrounded by vineyards and wineries.
