Welcome to The Australian Outback Baby Project. The Project is made up of many wonderful volunteers from mostly Australia and some from around the world.

The Australian Outback Baby Project Inc

We knit, sew, quilt, felt and or crochet clothes and items for donation to hospitals, Outreach clinics and remote midwives in Outback Australia and rural New South Wales as well as Careflight NSW & NT so that they can donate the gift sets to grieving families of stillborn & miscarried babies and give comfort to preemie babies whilst in hospital and their flight to hospital.

We receive no government funding help what so ever, and rely on community donations & sponsorships to create our care packs and special baby packs. We do NOT send people money to post us their donated items what so ever. We are a registered not for profit.

THIS IS WHAT WE DO:

* We are a volunteer incorporated charity which provides hospitals, remote clinics and midwives in Outback Australia, Northern and rural NSW, Northern Territory & in 2016 the Kimberley and Central Australia; with unique hand made baby funeral outfits and items for stillborn & miscarried baby funerals & memorials; and (living) preemies & select few newborns free of charge.

* We have "adopted" over 260 Aboriginal children in very remote Northern Territory who are orphans or being fostered. We provide baby products & clothes, Christmas presents, hospital baby packs, trauma toys, food etc that they may need. We also help the 47 remote Aboriginal communities that the 260 babies and kids reside on.

* We donate baby packs to Westmead hospital via Careflight NETS team (NSW).

* We donate and supply police all of the Northern Territory with soft toys for child victims of trauma., VRA rescue squads (NSW), some NSW fire brigades and a helicopter medical retrieval unit based in NSW.

* We support Careflight NSW & NT new neonatal and critical care unit (NETS) with hats, booties and NCIU smocks.

* We supply NETS & Careflight NSW and NT with full baby packs for preemie and critical care babies.

* We supply Womens & children's Refuges in the Northern Territory with clothing and anything they need (Pending 2015).

* Supply Careflight NT , the Royal Darwin Hospital, Katherine Hospital, Tiwi Islands, Gove Peninsula (Arnhem Land) and remote clinics all in the Northern Territory with full baby packs for miscarried, stillborn, preemie and newborn babies and their families. (Pending 2015)

* On occasion we randomly adopt a service to support them infrequently with a care pack for their employees throughout the year. Recipients include hospitals,Town Fire Brigades, Rural Fire Brigades, Careflight etc.

* We will be supplying hygiene bags to a small few NSW RFS stations.

* Support an Outback Aboriginal Women's Maternity Hospital in the Northern Territory.

* Supply assistance, wedding dresses and formal gowns and related accessories for Debutante Balls for young Aboriginal women in 47 remote communities in the Northern territory up to the Torres Strait Islands. Plus outfits for the young men to attend.
